Between June and August 2023, Nepal Police's Cyber Bureau recorded over 50 complaints of SIM swap fraud targeting Nepal Telecom (NTC) subscribers. Victims reported losing access to their mobile numbers, followed by unauthorized access to their bank accounts and digital wallets.
